This term we had to do three pieces about how someone else would see the world. I chose the Psychologist because I feel that so many people depend on them which tends to be a waste of money.
My mediums were black pen and water paints on canvas. I made my own canvas for the first time and enjoyed it to do it with my grandmother.

This is the first canvas I did and the main idea is the psychologist seeing the arms and hands of a frail, worn out girl pouring out a heart full of vibrancy and life. The colourful floor is a sign that this may be the office of a children's psychologist. The looker can interpret that being as this girl may have the innocence and naivety of a small child.
I enjoyed painting the heart as it was a challenge to show the different parts of the heart with only one shade of red. Initially the hands gave me some trouble because I didn't have reference photos to work off but in the end they came out like I intended them to.
This was my second canvas and I enjoyed doing it a lot as it was more of a spontaneous movement and mixing of colour rather than planning it out. It might be hard to see in the photo but the text says "Like the leaves of a tree changes with seasons, our minds change too and with the changing of the leaves as well as our minds, our hearts grow stronger like soil"
My third canvas is a very child like showing of the brain. It explodes with creativity even though we don't understand it and use it to its full potential. Many problems can be solved just by thinking like a child and from a young age this exact characteristic is driving out of our minds in an attempt to make us "accustomed to the real world". I think many psychologists try to bring back that way of thinking as to help the client in his or her life
In conclusion, I really enjoyed this project even though we got very little time to finish it. Water paint is something I'd like to work with more.
